Purely Local Soap

Original price was: £5.50.Current price is: £4.50.

Purely local soap is just that.  Very pure and made from local ingredients.

This cuts down on ‘soap miles’ and ensures that money stays in the local economy and that’s definitely a winner all round.

I’m also really happy if non local people buy it too!

Purely Local Soap is made from locally produced ingredients from just over the Essex border - apart from the coconut oil and sweet orange essential oil. We're not famed for our coconut palms or orange trees round these parts!

It cleanses, gives a gentle scrub and leaves skin feeling soft and not tight like some other soap brands do.  Every time you use this soap you'll know you are supporting local businesses.

What local produce is in Purely Local Soap?

Cold-pressed rapeseed oil from Duchess Farms in Hertfordshire.

Organic, gluten-free oats from Glebe Farms in Cambridge.

Oats are literally amazing for the skin.  They are natures powerhouse when it comes to soothing and nourishing sore, red, inflamed skin.

Have you heard of colloidal oatmeal?

I always thought colloidal oatmeal was some super duper wonder ingredient to calm redness and help with eczema.

Colloidal oatmeal just means oats that are chopped up so that they release their milky goodness quicker than if the oats were whole! Then the oats have to be suspended in something - in this case they're suspended in a really gentle soap base.

This means that ALL the products that I make using oats (and there are a lot) contain colloidal oatmilk because I blitz the oats in them.  Who knew?

Here’s an article that I found which explains a bit more about ‘colloidal oatmilk’

Each soap weighs around 120g and comes-wrapped in handmade Himalyan Lokta paper and is printed with an old-fashioned map of Essex.

local rapeseed oil (sodium rapeseedate), coconut oil (sodium cocoate), local, organic, gluten free oats (avena sativa), organic sweet orange oil (citrus aurantium dulcis).

Products: Lots of my products contain essential oils. While these are all added at safe levels for normal adult usage please ensure you do your own research or check with your medical practitioner before using products if you are pregnant or if you have any specific health conditions. All products are safety tested for normal adult use. Although all my products are as natural and gentle as possible please be aware the ingredients may, on rare occasions, cause irritation. Delivery times: Please be aware that, because some products are freshly made to order, it can take a few days for your order to be posted out to you. This is to ensure your products arrive as fresh as possible. I aim to post all orders out within 5 working days of receipt of order but occasionally there may be a longer wait if I have a lot of orders of if the order is very large. So if your order is for a specific date or occasion please ensure you order in enough time to allow for it to be delivered.

Wow! This soap is fantastic. It’s creamy and gently scrubby and has a lovely orangey smell. It doesn’t leave your hands feeling tight like some soaps can. They feel soft and moisturised so that must be the oats, goats milk and honey. I love that it is a local product as I love supporting local businesses and this way I can support not only Maldon Soap but all the local business where the produce has come from.
