Lavender & Tea Tree Solid Shampoo is great for all hair types but especially normal to dry hair.
What’s in lavender & tea tree solid shampoo?
Coconut, apricot kernel, olive, castor and jojoba oils are used in this shampoo to give it extra richness and the amazing ability to moisturise while gently cleansing.
Lavender and tea tree essential oils add antibacterial qualities, and do a great job of stimulating your scalp to promote hair growth while leaving your hair with a gorgeously fresh fragrance. Organic lemon oil adds a dash of brightness and zing to create shine.
You may have noticed that most solid shampoos on the market contain SLS which can dehydrate the hair, leaving it dry and brittle. None of my products contain SLS, palm oil, sulphates or any other artificial additives. This means that these shampoos are also suitable for use with Brazilian blow dry treatments.
How to use your solid shampoo bar:
- Wet your hair thoroughly, then rub the bar directly on your head.
- Rub your hair to work up a lather.
- Use your fingers to work the shampoo into the scalp and through the length of your hair.
- Rinse thoroughly with running water. It rinses really quickly, unlike sls laden shampoos where you sometimes have trouble getting rid of the foam.Your hair might take a couple of weeks to adjust but it's well worth persevering. Once you've gone through the transition phase your hair will feel be more bouncy, shiny and healthier than you can imagine.
A bit about the transition phase:
Here's a video that shows you how I use my solid shampoo (please dont judge me for leaving the shower running - I had a dodgy shower at the time that would have boiled then froze me if I'd switched it off and on again and that would have wasted a lot more water getting the temperature right again).
If you find your hair feels weird after using it - like you've got hairspray in your hair or like you've used conditioner instead of shampoo have a look at this video as it explains a lot about the transition phase and might put your mind at rest if you're thinking of giving up during the transition phase.
Not everyone needs to condition afterwards but if you do, why not try my orange solid conditioner.

I started using this a week ago. I have used other solid shampoos & have not got along with them but this one is fabulous. It lathers really well & smells gorgeous. My hair feels lovely, soft & clean. At first it made my hair feel a bit ‘squeaky’ when I was washing it but I persevered & love it.

Oh my goodness I never thought I would be able to go without my bottled shampoo. I decided to try this product after becoming suspicious of other companies who make solid shampoo’s ethics and I’m so glad I tried it and decided to persevere. The first time I used it my hair felt a bit strange but, like Sue said in her video, I kept at it and I’m so glad I did as my hair now feels fantastic every time I use it. I wouldn’t go back to using sls filled shampoos ever again. The conditioner is brilliant too. One conditioner bar lasts for ages, at least three times as long as the shampoo so it’s great value. Although the shampoo gets used up quite quickly in my case – I have waist lentgh hair – it’s a small price to pay for being chemical free, plastic free and helping the environment.

After using a certain large anti police high street stores solid shampoo, which was awful, I have given solid shampoos a wide berth. However I really like the idea of no plastic bottles so decided to give Maldon Soap company’s a go and I’m so glad I did, it smells amazing, lathers beautifully and it really feels like it’s doing your scalp good too. An added bonus is that it weighs much less to pack in your suitcase than two heavy bottles of shampoo and conditioner. ( also love the solid conditioner too!)

I was really nervous to switch to shampoo bars as I’d not heard good things and especially as I have really long hair. I also have a dry scalp and have always used anti dandruff shampoo. I have just used this soap bar and it’s amazing! My scalp has never felt so clean and soothed. I’m sold!

I’ve finally come through the transition phase and can’t get over how beautifully soft, shiny and healthy my hair is now. I’d just got to the point where I thought my hair wasn’t going to adjust, but stuck with it having watched Sue’s video about the transition and I’m now SO glad that I did – all of a sudden my hair adjusted and actually feels better than it did with regular shampoo/conditioner, it’s just as soft and shiny, but also much thicker and feels healthier.
