Benson’s Bubbles Dog Shampoo

(8 customer reviews)

Let’s be honest, most liquid shampoos are a nightmare with dogs. Those foaming agents take forever to rinse out and even worse, they make sensitive doggy skin itchy and flaky.

Benson’s Bubbles dog shampoo bar is your saviour. It’s easy to apply, rinses out first go – and it’s packed full of oils and butters to nurture your dog’s skin and leave their coat soft and shiny.

If your dog loves muddy puddles, or has a thing for rolling around in disgusting substances, this dog shampoo bar is a must-have. It’s an easy way to clean the skin and coat without stripping out any natural moisture.

Check out the description below for the inspiration behind the shampoo bar and full list of ingredients – plus a quick tutorial on how to use a dog shampoo bar.

This is Benson, my adorable doggy grandson. And, as you can see, muddy puddles make him very happy indeed.

Benson loves muddy puddles!

Skin-wise, Benson is a sensitive soul – and his mud obsession means frequent baths so I formulated this dog shampoo especially for him. It has been tested on Benson and I’m pleased to say that both he and his mum heartily approve.

The shampoo bar lathers up just the right amount for a thorough cleansing, then it rinses out with no fuss. Your dog’s skin is nourished, and their coat smells beautifully fresh and clean.

So, what’s in it?

Organic avocado oil, jojoba oil and evening primrose oil hydrate and calm the skin, while coconut, olive and apricot kernel oils are blended with castor oil to create the right amount of lather for your dog.

Organic neem oil helps ward off fleas and ticks, and is excellent for your dog’s skin and coat. It’s mixed with a selection of dog-friendly, antibacterial and skin-calming essential oils (lavender, tea tree, peppermint and lemon) to make your dog smell lovely.

Aloe vera provides more skin calming, while green clay detoxifies and cleanses.

How to use your dog shampoo bar

Benson’s Bubbles dog shampoo bar can be used in warm or cold water. Wet your dog’s coat and rub it with the whole bar a few times. Be careful to avoid the eyes, ears and nose.

As you rub, the shampoo will produce enough lather for a thorough clean – although if your dog is really dirty (like Benson) it’s fine to rinse and repeat..

Quantitative ingredients of Benson’s Bubbles dog shampoo bar: aqua, sodium cocoate, sodium olivate, organic sodium avocadoate, sodium apricot kernelate, sodium castorate, organic neem oil (melia azadirachta), aloe vera (aloe barbadensis), organic evening primrose (oenothera biensis), organic jojoba oil (simmondsia japonica), green clay (argilez), lavender oil (lavandula angustifolia), tea tree oil (melaleuca alternifolia), organic peppermint oil (menthe pipera), lemon oil (citrus medica limonum).

The bar is a nice big chunk of soap that’s easy to handle (around 150g) but feel free to cut it up to suit your needs.

I used this soap on my Jack Russel last night, it is SUPERB! Not only did it turn him white again (he loves rolling in everything and turns a dusty grey very quickly!) it has also reduced his scratching and itching.

It is easy to apply, I literally rubbed the bar all over him, foams really well but not to much to be silly and very importantly it rinses off really easily. When it’s hot I rinse him off with the hose in the garden, I wouldn’t normally use a shampoo but I will be using this shampoo bar at the same time, it’s that good and easy to use.

Summary: If you want a very clean dog that smells much better and itches less by using something that is easy to apply and rinse off, this is it.

A great and easy soap to use on my dog (who’s a very reluctant bather). Best of all several weeks on he’s not turned into his normal smelly self again which he normally does after only a few days.

Used this dog shampoo bar on Evie a few weeks ago, the heatwave seemed a good time to get the old tin bath out in the garden. She hates being bathed and usually I have to have an extra pair of hands, but holding her with one hand and massaging her with soap with the other was ideal. Lovely lather and a nice smelling hound.
Just back from a dog walk and Evie found the only muddy puddle in Essex, resulting in black, smelly legs. It didn’t come off with the hose, but a rub with the soap bar has done the job…thank you!

My brother buys this for his Bassett hound as she suffers with itchy skin. It lathers well and has reduced her itchiness and brought the shine back to her coat.

This has proved brilliant for getting the Mersea mud off Thomas with the hose (a regular occurrence , so the soap and hose also comes into play regularly too). His coat is actually even glossier than it was, since we started using it. I cut the bar into a couple of lumps with a sharp knife , in order to use one bit up first, so as not to waste it. And I am not ashamed to say that it smells so delicious that I borrowed it (the fresh bit!) and showered with it myself!

I’ve done that too Kath. I’ve never had such a shiny coat and cold wet nose! 😂 xx

I love this soap. So much easier than using liquid soaps. I would like to say that my dogs like it too, but sadly they hate baths! At least they smell nice after the bath though.

My dog Daisy loves a bath and I used to really dislike using the nasty stuff from pet shops. Maldon soap has produced just what we needed . So glad I bought some and it last for ages.
