I’ve got a surprise! A new product! And what’s even better is that it’s a face cream for oily skin!
I’ve been meaning to replace the goats milk and almond face cream since I lost my supplier of fresh, local, raw, unpasteurised milk but had trouble coming up with something that would work as well. It’s taken a lot of experimentation and tweaking but I’ve finally come up with a wonderful alternative.
May I introduce White Tea and Lavender Face Cream.
It’s a little known fact that even oily skin needs moisture and, although a lot of oils are too heavy for oily skin, there are certain oils which help to balance oily and combination skin.
Which ingredients are good for oily skin?
As I’ve said previously the base is an infusion of white tea. White tea contains very potent antioxidant and anti ageing properties which are both very beneficial to the skin. White tea is the least processed of all the teas so it retains more of the plants natural goodness. It is good for all skin types but, due to its rejuvenating properties, it will help to balance oily and combination skin and will also help reduce scarring.
The organic white tea is infused in organic rosewater – as are all our face creams. Rosewater is very hydrating to the skin and rose is brilliant at balancing the skins sebum.
Organic jojoba oil is added for it’s incredible ability to mimic the skins sebum so closely that it’s like putting your own moisture back on your skin.
Apricot kernel oil is a very light oil which doesn’t leave any oily residue on the skin or clog the pores.
Coconut oil is such a brilliant oil for just about everything. It balances sebum and doesn’t clog pores or leave much of a residue on the skin. It can actually have a blotting effect on breakouts which is great news for oily skin.
Aloe Vera is added for its many benefits to all skin types, not just oily, but it helps with acne breakouts, scarring, enlarged pores, it’s a natural moisturiser and can help to reduce wrinkles so it was an obvious choice to put into this face cream.
I have fragranced the cream with lavender and tea tree essential oils.
Lavender essential oil is one of the most balancing essential oils. It has an incredible ability to reduce oil production from oily skin and can add moisture to dry skin. Add to that the aromatherapy benefits and it’s a winner all round.
Tea tree essential oil is great for oily skin and has antiseptic properties as sometimes oily skin can get breakouts which can get infected.
Who is this cream suitable for?
The cream would be suitable for anyone with combination or oily, spot prone skin. It is light and easily absorbed into the skin.
Due to its lightness it would be great as a day cream even for those with normal skin. I always take a lighter face cream away on holiday if I’m going somewhere hot so it would be a good summer alternative for normal skin.
The cream will be available on the website, in the soap shack and in the Tiptree outlet as from tomorrow 26th April, 2017
