10 best products when you don’t know what skin type you are

What's my skin type blog by The Maldon Soap Company

Your skin goes through so many changes in your lifetime. It can start out really oily in your teens before drying out as you get older.

In the meantime the weather, time of year and even your time of life may make your skin sensitive, normal or even combination. Is it any wonder that you may not know what skin type you currently are?

However, it can also be a real pain if you don’t know your skin type. It can make it really hard to find the right products for your skin – products that will both help keep it adequately nourished and give your skin whatever it currently needs to look and feel great.

You don’t want to be buying loads of products and then binning them when your skin changes as that’s just a waste of money. You need a collection of products that will fit the bill whatever your skin type. Look no further!

So what should I use?

Luckily, with Maldon Soap products, this is an easy problem to solve – I have many products that are suitable for all skin types! But why keep it to just facial products, when the skin on your scalp and body can be just as difficult to understand!

Here’s Maldon Soap’s top 10 products that are suitable for all skin types.

#1: Coconut and Olive Hot Cloth Cleanser

If you want fabulous, healthy skin, look no further! This little beauty even removes waterproof mascara – yet it’s still soft and gentle. If your skin is even sensitive to essential oils an unfragranced version is also available.

#2: Lavender and Oatmilk Gentle Eye Cream

Great for all skin types, this gentle eye cream is light, luxurious and great at soothing puffy eyes and reducing those fine lines. Keep it in the fridge for an even more soothing effect – great in summer!

#3: Carrot and Almond Facial Soap

If you prefer your cleansers in a bar format, this is a great one for you. Suitable for all skin types, it cleans without stripping your skin of essential moisture.

#4: Rose and Orange Organic Toner

This toner is something else! It’s soothing, calming, balancing, refreshing and toning for your skin. It’s 100% natural, is non-astringent and alcohol free. Keep it in the fridge to cool, calm redness and rehydrate in the summer!

#5: Rose Argan Face Cream

This beautifully gentle cream sinks easily into your skin, leaving it soft and comfortable.

#6: Calendula and Orange Lip Balm

Your lips can really take exception to the changes in weather and environment. This light and wonderful lip balm is perfect for you, your children and any type of skin.

#7: Nettle and Rosemary Solid Shampoo Bar

It’s not just the skin on your face that can change over time, even your scalp is affected by the elements and weather! Treat it well, by opting for a solid, natural shampoo that won’t strip your hair and dry out your scalp.

#8: Survival Soap

This soap is of the ‘one bar does all’ variety! It’s great for your hair, face, body and clothing – perfect for camping trips or whenever you need to pack light.

#9: Coconut and Almond Hand and Body Lotion

This gorgeous hand and body lotion sinks in beautifully to nourish and care for all skin types. With its base of organic coconut and almond oils plus its marzipan fragrance it’s an all round winner.

My soaps are luxury items. They are gifts in themselves. Their wrapping is pretty enough that you could just give a bar to someone as it is and for it to look like a present, without the need for more wrapping paper or packaging.
